Alana van Wouw is the founder of  Crane Ridge Analytics, a consultancy built on the principles of integrity first, excellence, and strategic impact. With over 20 years of experience across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, Alana has led high-impact projects in mining, infrastructure, and development—delivering solutions that combine technical precision, financial insight, and ethical governance.

Her expertise spans monitoring and evaluation, mine modeling, due diligence, and sustainability strategy, with a strong focus on aligning operations to global standards such as IRMA, OECD Due Diligence, IFC Performance Standards, ICMM Principles, and ESG frameworks.

Key Achievements

  • Led due diligence and monitoring for  a number of  organisations under the IDC’s Social Employment Fund, including strategic partners such as Impact Catalyst, Goedgedacht Trust, and the Disability Economic Empowerment Trust.

  • Developed audit cycles and evaluation models for national initiatives like the Tirisano Construction Fund and the IAMF Penalty Deduction Model.

  • Managed multi-country feasibility and valuation projects for mining operations in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Guatemala.

  • Directed cross-cultural project alignment for engineering firms in China and South Africa, integrating PMBOK methodologies and team training.

  • Published over 10 market analysis articles in Modern Mining Magazine, offering strategic insights into commodity trends and investment risks.

  • Served as Senior Project Manager for Central Copper Resources in the DRC and Penmin in Botswana, overseeing feasibility studies and operational planning.
